In this class, group assignments and projects make up a big part of the course. These group assignments are made so that we could learn from one another, work with others, and improve our collaboration skills.

Group Collaboration

Group projects was one of the best things that I experienced in this class. I was able to work with people that had so many great ideas. These projects helped me learn a lot about how to easily collaborate with people that had the same interests as me. However, at first, it was a bit difficult. I say this because working in groups means that you will have to work with people that you have never met or talked to before, and work with them for more than half of the semester. It can sometimes be hard because you need to deal with working with others, not knowing if they are going to do the work or not. Not only that but, you also have to meet up outside of class, which is a big thing that you and your group have to figure out.

As you will notice when you start college, the time of your classes will vary. So, that means that you are most likely not going to have the same schedule as your classmates. You and your teammates may also have jobs, and have to try to fit school into your schedules. Although this is true, you will certainly make it work because in college, it is a bit different. Just look at highschool in the sense that students don’t really care about passing or doing work. On the other hand, in college, you want to do the work and get a passing grade because if not, you have to drop the class (I don't think that you would want to retake a class all over again). Don't stress it though, seriously, you will make it work. It will be easy because you will have people that are willing to collaborate and make the best out of the work. Which is why collaboration is key, and you will learn a lot more about it throughout the semester as you work with your groups. When you work with others who are willing to collaborate, everything runs smoothly and the work comes out better than expected.

Group Troubleshooting

When there is a group, there may always be icks that can easily be fixed and good things that can keep being used. Group troubleshooting is a crucial component in this class especially when working in groups. Group troubleshooting allows you and your teammates to point out the strengths and weaknesses that your team has. What you do is that if you have a good positive, you keep working on it and make sure that it stays that way. You also explain how you got to that positive and what made your group work that way.

Now, if you have a negative, which would be where your team has a weakness, you need to fix it. You need to come together with your team, figure out why that weakness is there, and find ways to improve it. Find what you can do better next time and from then on, work with it. Like that, for the next group troubleshooting, you could see the progress that your team has made throughout the semester. Looking at the progress and work that you have done, really makes you feel accomplished and that you've grown as a collaborator. Which is what this is all about, growth.
